National Bank Sponsors St. Kitts Society for the Blind

Mrs. Patricia Wilkinson, Executive Manager, Marketing hands over ticket for travelling to St. Lucia to Mr. Rockliffe Bowen, President of the St. Kitts Society for the Blind.
National Bank Press Release

(Monday, November 2nd, 2009)  - For many years, National Bank has been encouraging members of the St. Kitts Blind Society to live with dignity and independence.

For this reason, National Bank has stepped in to demonstrate its support by making it possible for Mr. Rockliffe Bowen, President of the St. Kitts Society for the Blind to travel to the CCB executive meeting scheduled for November 13-14 in Castries, St. Lucia.

The Caribbean Council for the Blind (CCB) is a non-profit entity consisting of 29 member organizations from across the English and French speaking Caribbean. The CCB recently elected Mr. Bowen as Deputy Chairperson of the North South Eastern Zone.  Mr. Bowen was chosen to represent his zone to address pressing issues relating to visual impairment and to develop a two-year plan of action regarding access to formal education and training for the blind.

National recognises that blindness and visual impairment need not be a hindrance to personal development and therefore applauds the Society of the Blind for reminding us that it is more important to have vision than it is to have sight.
