By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE buzz is now in the air for the return of the St. kitts Music Festival, after officials announced the roster for the mega event on Friday (Mar. 25) evening.

Attended by a fair sized crowd, the release party created the hype and atmosphere for the revealing of top regional and international artistes across the Soca, R&B, Hip Hop and Soul genres.

Ashanti, Sean Paul, Lyrikal, Keyshia Cole and Voice are some of the recognised performers expected to grace the stage of the June 23-25 event at the Kim Collins Athletics Stadium in Bird Rock.

This is the first Festival since the onset of the pandemic, and the organisers are expecting a bumper crowd this year.

With there being a pent up demand for activities coming out of the various lockdown measures owing to COVID-19, Festival Chairman Damien Hobson confirmed that there would be no increase in ticket prices for this year’s event.

Ticket prices will be capped at US$50 or EC$135.

“This year we promise you three energetic nights of world class entertainment will leave you with an unforgettable experience,” Hobson noted.

Citizens, residents and visitors alike can expect the usual fringe activities to return to this year’s week of the Festival, noted Hobson. Moves have been made to accommodate the staging of the music festival as the Federation currently does not have active cases of the virus.

MInister of Tourism Lindsay Grant confirmed that the Government is now accepting Antigen Test taken within 24 hours of arrival into the Federation would be accepted beginning in April.

That will be a welcomed position for many as the cost of a PCR Test is difficult to find in certain countries and could be expensive.

“Our Committee has worked tirelessly to fashion a lineup that is consistent with the high standard we have exhibited since 1996. I am therefore very confident that the roster of artistes…will not only excite you, but brighten your spirits after two long years,” added Hobson.

The organisers provided the breakdown of artistes for the three nights.

On Thursday 23rd, June: Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons, Destra, Nadia Batson, Lyrikal, Masicka, Rucas H.E, Grand Masters, Small Axe and NuVybes,
