Venue announced for CPL finals

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- WITH the organizers of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) announcing August 30 to September 30 as the season for this year's tournament, the finals will be heading to the South American mainland.

Guyana will stage the finals and knock out legs of the tournament as part of a two weeks swing for the tournament near the  Amazon Basin. That will mark the return of the tournament after it was successfully staged in the St. Kitts and Nevis last year.

The announcement was made this evening by Guyana’s President Irfaan Ali at a launch ceremony for the CPL/Carnival 2022 initiative.

Ali noted that the finals for the next three seasons, including this year’s tournament, will be staged at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

CPL had recently confirmed that the Federation will stage one leg of the tournament as part of a four venue tour.

The St. Kitts-Nevis Patriots are the defending champions and the host Amazon Warriors will be seeking to capture the title on home turf this year.
