Human remains found in Bayfords Mountain

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE have reported that, acting on information received on Friday (Apr. 1), ranks had conducted a search at Bayfords Mountain and found bones which appeared to be that of a human being.

Personnel from the Forensic Department had also visited the scene, collected the bones and confirmed that they were of human remains.

The police have since launched an investigation and are urging persons who might have with information regarding the matter to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 467-1887, 467-1888, 662-3468, the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline at 707, where that information could be given anonymously.

Over the years in St. Kitts, many persons had gone missing - primarily males - and only on Friday (Mar. 18) the decomposing body of 40-year-old Mario ‘Reggie’Riley, who went missing earlier that month, was found along a dirt road leading to Beaumont Park in Dieppe Bay.

It is hoped that this recent find will bring closure to the search of one of those missing individuals and an end to family members wondering where he might be, after the remains would have been identified.
