BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - HEALTH officials and members of the Police Force in Jamaica are feverishly working to locate the man who had tested positive for Monkeypox and had escaped today (Jul. 9) from a hospital where he was placed in isolation.
According to the Minister of Health in Kingston, Christopher Tufton, the man made good his escape from the hospital through a window, before boarding a waiting vehicle.
The man turned up at a health facility with symptoms five days after arriving on the island, and had tested positive on the following day.
The manhunt is now on as Monkeypox is a viral infection that passes from person to person.
