Breaking: Patriots through to 6ixty finals

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A superb inning of power hitting by Andre Fletchere has ensured that the St. Kitts-Nevis Patriots   have qualified for the finals of the inaugural 6ixty tournament on home soil, upstaging the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Chasing a total of 122 off 60 balls, Fletcher blasted 60 from 30 balls to guide the Patriots to the finals in a gripping encounter.

Batting first, the Tallawahs struggled to get their innings off to a good start after quick losing their top order batters. But talisman all-round Fabian Allen, 83,  pushed the total to a daunting 122 for 3 off their allotted 60 balls.

In the process, Allen struck nine sixes and three boundaries, but in the end it was the power hitting of Fletcher and Chris Gayle that took the Patriots over the line,

Jeremiah Louis told reporters that it was the team sticking to the basics that got them over the line in the end. He acknowledged that the conditions were good for batting,  but it was the basics that got them to the Finals.

They now sit and wait for the results of the second semi-finals between the Barbados Royals and Trinbago Knight Riders.
