BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- AFTER losing the 6ixty or T10 title to the Barbados Royals, the Trinbago Knight Riders had sweet revenge today at Warner park by whipping the Royals by 10 runs to be crowned the Inaugural Women’s CPL champions.
Batting first, Knight Riders led by Captain Deandre Dottin who scored a patient 59 runs off 62 balls, as wickets fell around her, to take her team a well below par 100for 7 off their allotted 20 overs.
Royals Captain, Hayley Matthews led from the front with the ball, picking up 3 wickets
In reply, a valiant effort from Matthews (46) was not enough to take her side across the line, as they were bowled out for 90 inside of their 20 overs.
No other batter was able to get into double figures as they crumbled under pressure.
