Nu Vybes Band to host album launch tonight

By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TONIGHT (Nov. 13) is the night for the highly anticipated album release of one of the most talked about bands in the Federation, the Nu Vybes Band a.k.a. Sugar Band.

The release will be held at Ma Pau and begins at 8:30 p.m. According to Seth Saheli, a member of the management team, the 2009-2010 album, ‘Krossroads’, features 10 tracks and is dedicated to their fallen founding member Analdo ‘Al’ Williams.

Williams, who resided in Atlanta, died in the wee hours of Sunday, August 16, and unconfirmed reports suggest that he may have suffered a stroke.

“He was drummer, lead singer and heart of the band, and was always a part of the band. We therefore saw it fit, as it (passing) touched all of us deeply, and felt strongly that we should dedicate this production to him,” he said.

Saheli said that the band has been going through various changes that lend to the album’s title ‘Krossroads’ with its unique spelling.

“Basically, for the past three years, we’ve been going through ups and downs, changes, crossing different paths and going through different experiences. So, this is the outcome of all our challenges and this is the final entity of it, which is our album.

“And the album will prove and will show, as usual, to all our fans that our music comes from actual life experiences that each member, not just of the band but management, road crew and affiliates go through…and also what the fans go through. All of that, put together, creates the boiling pot that in the end will be the musical production that we produce - our album,” he said.

Saheli said that the launch would also be carried live on WINN FM for those who are unable to attend the release.

The tracks will be released between 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and the band will perform from 10: 30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. Admission for the event is EC$20.
