TEMPO turns 4’ tonight in St. Croix

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WHENEVER TEMPO Networks LLC celebrates its anniversary, one can always expect a grand mega concert. This year, TEMPO will be turning four in St. Croix and artistes such as the legendary dancehall singer Shabba Ranks, Puerto Rican salsa band N’KLABE, reggae singers Tarrus Riley and Gramps Morgan, Trinidad Soca Monarch Iwer George, Jamaican dancehall diva Ce’Cile and Trinidad-born entertainer Ziggy Rankin will be participating in the mega concert at the Randall ‘Doc’ James Race Track.

Artistes from St. Croix include Road March Champions UMB Soldiers, reggae artiste Mada Nile and 2008 VI Idol winner Cherise King, while DJ Poppy Pops of Isle 95 radio will spin hit songs during the night.

In 2005 TEMPO was a newly-formed Caribbean television channel dedicated to promoting the music and culture of the wider Caribbean, including the US Virgin Islands. Out of all the Caribbean countries, Nevis was the venue chosen for a concert initiating the new company back in 1995.

Some of the international artistes that performed before the massive crowd were Wyclef Jean, Angie Stone, Luciano and Beres Hammond. TEMPO recently held the ‘Badness Outta Style’ School Tour in St. Kitts, which was a three-event from June 29th to July 1st and was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of National Security and TEMPO.

The event was in support of an anti-violence message with high energy presentations and performances for the youth.

The performances included local artistes Masud Sadiki, Dagah and C-Money with regional acts Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica and Duane Stephenson. Schools involved in the tour included Sandy Point High, Basseterre High and Cayon High.
