The Cable partnership with streaming platform to create international exposure, royalties for local artistes and content provider

By: The Cable, Press Release

BASSETERRE, ST KITTS 21 OCTOBER, 2022 -- The Cable has entered into a partnership with Pavilion Plus Streaming Platform that will benefit local artistes and content providers. The company’s first engagement with the platform was to facilitate the streaming of a locally-produced show called “Let’s Do This!” Let’s Do This! is a reality series that aims to provide potential investments to local entrepreneurs for their business ideas and ventures. In an invited comment, Executive Producer of the show, Gardenia Destang-Richardson said “We are excited by the prospects that will be derived from this partnership as it will certainly provide more opportunities for the participants and the show on a whole.”

Chief Executive Officer of The Cable, Patricia Walters, expressed her delight in the partnership with Pavilion Plus Streaming Platform, indicating that the exposure will greatly help local artistes and content providers in general. “We have an abundance of underexposed talent in St. Kitts & Nevis which, once unearthed and professionally harnessed, will receive the requisite international exposure which can then be monetized.” She explained that Pavilion Plus streaming service showcases Caribbean content, which is heavily promoted in the diaspora markets.

Just a few months ago, The Cable endorsed a two-step strategy together with MoENT to showcase talent and enrich talent. The company has since demonstrated its commitment to supporting local content by providing a channel for local talent exposure. This partnership with influential media companies is, therefore, another step that will provide international exposure to local content providers and, in exchange, receive revenue in the form of royalties. Said the company’s CEO, “while we want the world to see the great talent we have here, we also want that talent to be paid handsomely.”

The Cable teamed up with the Ministry of Entertainment earlier this year to roll out MoENT TV, aired on Channel 4. At the launch event, CEO Walters pointed out that since the launch of Ultra TV, The Cable has been working nonstop to ensure the product is improved. “This journey of growth has brought to the fore our more where it matters mantra – including being able to eventually see our own local entertainers in international markets,” she shared.

The company will shortly be providing FREE subscriptions to Pavilion Plus for 3 months to all its customers.
