Minister Hector first crosses finish line in NHLDC Cancer Care Walk

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – MINISTER of Agriculture the Hon. Robelto Hector was first to cross the finish-line when the National Housing and Land Development Corporation (NHLDC) held its Cancer Care Walk on Saturday, November 14.

     

    Minister Hector was one of 29 persons who participated in the event held in collaboration with Pink Lily Breast Cancer Awareness Nevis, which started from the bus stop in Cotton Ground and ended at the Artisan Village in Charlestown. The walk was part of the NHLDC’s month of activities to commemorate its 25th anniversary.

     

    Among the others finishing the walk were Denise Morgan, the first female; Jamie Cornelius, the first child and youngest participant at 11 years old; and Dr. Gordon Avery, who was the oldest person to cross the line.

     

    Minister of Health Hon. Henlsey Daniel, who also participated, congratulated the NHLDC on organising the walk and said such events are essential to improved health. He also said he would like to see more such activities as Nevis continues on its journey to improve health and wellness.

     

    Certificates for the top finishers were presented by Pink Lily founder Lea Parris-Cambridge.
