BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A female Barrister-at-Law of Halfway Tree was recently slapped with Forgery-related charges.
According to a police press release, 65-year-old Agatha James-Andries was charged on three counts of tForgery and three counts of Uttering Forged Documents.
The offences were allegedly committed on June 09, 2022, June 10, 2022, and July 08, 2022, respectively, and the Maritime Lawyer was arrested and charged on Wednesday (Dec, 14).
Police stated that on Wednesday (Dec. 14), a search search warrant was also executed on her law office and a number of items of evidential value were taken into custody.
He release further stated that later that day, James-Andries had received bail in the sum of $40,000 with one surety with the condition that she surrender all travel documents.
As investigations into the alleged offences are ongoing, the Maritime Lawyer is scheduled to appear before the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
