Taylor gets bail on Threatening Language charges

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AFTER being in police custody for three nights following Threatening Language charges, Kelvin Taylor of Upper Fiennes acquired his pre-trial liberty yesterday (Dec. 19).

The 40-year-old man appeared before the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court yesterday and was granted bail  in the sum of $10,000 with two sureties with the conditions that he should have no contact with the virtual complainant, he should not come within 100 feet of the virtual complainant, and that he should report to the Basseterre Police Station daily.

Last week, a statement from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) noted that Taylor was arrested and charged with two counts of Making Use of Threatening Language to a woman and a juvenile.

The offences were committed on November 28 and December 15, 2022 respectively, and he was charge on Friday (Dec. 16).

According to the statement, on Friday (Dec. 16), a video being circulated on social media was brought to the attention of Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy.

In that video, a man was heard threatening the life of a woman and a juvenile.

“The threats made were very unsettling and the Commissioner immediately instructed Officers to move swiftly on the matter,” the statement read.

It also noted that, once again, the High Command wants to make it clear that the RSCNPF has a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of domestic violence, and the same also goes for threats made against the life of
    others.

“We condemn all such actions and when related matters are brought to the attention of the organisation, our Officers will do whatever is possible within their powers under the law to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice,” the statement read.

Taylor is scheduled to appear before the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court on February 06, 2023.
