By: FINA World, Press Release

December 22nd, 2022  --  Jennifer Harding Marlin represented St.Kitts & Nevis in her 4th World Swimming Championships held from Dec. 13-18 in Melbourne Australia.

There were over 800+ athletes from 170+ countries competing at these Championships.

Jennifer’s performance at this Championship meet included a 28th overall finish in the 100m Individual Medley and a 34th overall finish in the 200m backstroke. Jennifer has continuously improved her ranking at World Championships. Jennifer is considered one of the best swimmers in the Caribbean where she recently won 6 medals at the OECS swimming championships.

One of the most impressive swims of the World Championships was by Jordan Crooks of the Cayman Islands who won the gold medal in the men’s 50 meter freestyle. He had previously finished 19th in the 50 freestyle at the 19th FINA World (50m) Swimming Championships in Budapest. Both Jennifer and Jordan have made significant improvements to their overall world championships rankings over the years. Jordan is now World Champion.

Jennifer made an impression on coaches from around the world and was invited to swim in both Sweden and Australia to train with their swim teams in preparation for the next World Championships to be held in Japan (summer of 2023) with the ultimate goal of competing at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
