BASSETERRE, St. Kitts 23 December 2022 -- The Cable is set to roll out its fiber-to-the-home internet service starting with customers in Gillard Meadows. In short order, customers in this community will experience fiber Internet speeds of up to 500 Mbps, based on their current Broadband Internet plans. The company has announced that no application is required from its existing internet customers, but that its technicians will make contact to arrange installation.
Management and staff at The Cable are confident that the company’s new network infrastructure is built for the future and pledged to provide ongoing investment to ensure that citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis have access to reliable, competitively priced high-speed Internet. “We are building a network that will last a lifetime because we believe that the country and our people deserve this level of investment. Our organization has always been a leading contributor to national development and this milestone achievement is another example of that commitment,” said The Cable’s Chief Executive Officer, Patricia Walters in an invited response. Chairman of the Board, Mr. Russell Halbert added, “the new network will jettison The Cable to the forefront of the telecommunications industry in the Caribbean region”.
The company used the occasion to thank customers for their patience and cooperation during the build out phase. “Our customers have remained loyal and cooperative during the months of disruption as we worked hard to design, construct and commission into service our underground fiber network, and we truly appreciate their understanding knowing that we would eventually get to this stage,” stated Chief Commercial Officer, Bibiana Henry.
Superfast, reliable, resilient and long lasting, the company’s fiber network has been designed to provide speeds of up to 1 GIG to residential customers, as deployment kicks into full gear in a phased rollout approach during the new year. It will eventually replace the old Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) network.

Following the installation of fiber internet to the residents of Gillard Meadows, the service will become available in New Road and then expand into the St. Peter’s area in general. “After St Peter’s, we will target other communities across the island, intensifying our efforts in January and the coming months,” confirmed Bibiana Henry.
