CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - THE two male immigrants, who police had taken into custody on Friday (Feb. 3), were charged with Illegal Entry at a Port that is not a Formal Port of Entry and Disembarking Without the Consent of an Immigration Officer.

The two men were identified as 45-year-old Danny Henry of Dominica and 25-year-old Brisone Desir of Haiti.

They were charges with the offences on Monday (Feb. 6) and remain in police custody.

This media house had earlier reported that at about 6:00 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 3), police received a report that a boat was seen coming ashore at Gallows Bay, from which two males disembarked and were walking towards Bath Village.

Officers from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department had responded to the report and found the two males in Bath Village, who they stopped and questioned.

It was revealed that they had arrived on a motor vessel which was anchored off the coast in the Gallows Bay area.

It was also revealed that the two men had made their way to the shore using a dinghy.

The law enforcement officers then accompanied the men to the vessel where they found 13 nationals of Haiti – 10 adults and three juveniles – onboard.
