CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE Empire Sports Club of Hanley’s Road will continue observing its 30th Anniversary with a benefit concert on Sunday (Nov. 22) at the Henry’s Memorial Wesleyan Holiness Church at Bucks Hill, Gingerland.
According to information received from the Club President, Eric Evelyn, the concert which begins at 3:30 p.m. would be of a high standard with a line-up of acclaimed gospel artistes.
Although no admission fee will be charged, patrons are asked to donate generously since part of the proceeds will go towards the medical expenses of youth cricketer Dillon Claxton who is undergoing treatment overseas.
The concert is just one of the activities planned by the club for its anniversary observations. Others include the launching in May of the Boys Together for Change programme, which is aimed at the holistic development of boys in Hanley’s Road; a church service at the St. George’s Anglican Church on November 1; and visits to the St. George and St. John Senior Citizens’ Home and the Flamboyant Home.
Other activities planned include a 35-and-over dance at Occasions on November 28, and a take away lunch on December 6 at the Charles Walters Community Centre on Hanley’s Road.
