BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE have launched a probe to determine the exact cause of an accident that left a female student of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine warded at the Joseph N France General Hospital.
Videos and photos circulated via social media platforms showed a damaged motorcycle, a damaged bus and the injured female lying on the roadway.
In a media statement, police reported that the accident occurred around 2:25 p.m. on Friday (Mar. 31) outside of the University.
According to the details, the accident involved motor omnibus HA438, driven by Glenroy Richards of Sandy Point, and motor scooter P8009, driven by Johanna Schneider of Atlanta Georgia (USA) who resides at Boyd’s Village and is a student of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Police revealed that the omnibus, which was travelling from the Basseterre area, had stopped outside the University when the scooter collided with its rear.
The motorcyclist sustained injuries to her right leg and was transported to the Joseph N France General Hospital where she is being treated and warded in stable condition.
Commissioner of Police James Sutton recently confirmed that the Police Force would step up monitoring activities to curtail the number of traffic accident occurring in the Federation, as it has become a growing problem.
