Kittitian and Nevisian students represent UVI at leadership conference

    (November 23rd 2009) - Nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis and undergraduate students at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Jaedee Caines and St. Clair Hodge, are presently in Washington DC attending the National Conference on Student Leadership (NCSL).
     
    NCSL is in its 31st year and covers topics such as Effective Communication, Conflict Resolution, Community Building, Publicity and Promotion, Meeting Management and Team Building. The conference, which is being held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, facilitates over 700 students from colleges and universities in the United States and began on Saturday, 21st Nov. 2009.
     
    Caines, who serves as President of the Student Government Association (SGA) is from the island of Nevis. She is a senior Communications Major who is also pursuing an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
     
    Hodge, who is a resident of St. Kitts, is a Junior Business Administration Major who is also pursuing an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems. Hodge serves as Vice President of the Student Government Association.
     
    Also representing UVI at the leadership conference are SGA Secretary, Leah Hughes of Anguilla and Public Relations Officer Campbell Douglas, also of St. Kitts.

     

    The students will return to their school in St. Thomas on Wed. 25 Nov. 2009.
