Mr. Wayne Williams, Ready-Mix Concrete Manager, at the St. Kitts Masonry Products (SKMP) at Canada Industrial Estate, recently returned to the Federation, after having attended the World of Concrete International Convention (WOC).
Williams was among 80,000 participants held in Las Vegas, Nevada in the U.S. The International Convention is designed for Professionals involved in the Concrete, Masonry and Construction Industry.
The Annual event also acts as a forum for industry leaders to address challenges (global and environmental) and opportunities to address the changes within the Industry.
Additionally, the five-day meeting featured eighteen thousand (1,800) exhibitors, covering over 800,000 sq ft of exhibits. To complement the Annual gathering was a series of Seminars that focused on Plant Management Techniques, Practical Concrete Repair, as well as, an interactive demonstration program on the Technical, Managerial, and Marketing elements relating to the industry.
Upon being interviewed, Williams remarked, "I was very pleased to attend this event. It further broadened my understanding of the important role that the St. Kitts Masonry plays in the Federation. Moreover, it created an opportunity for me to meet with some of the International leaders within the field who help to reshape modern business culture."
This is the second year that the St. Kitts Masonry Products (SKMP) has been represented at the convention. Mr. Karl Lewis was the first delegate. Since then, the Company has embarked on implementing a Customer/Client-oriented approach to business to meet the growing needs of the local market.
