BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE are said to be probing what is being described as a “suspected suicide” that occurred in Nevis Streets, Basseterre.
Dead is popular English/Literature lecturer Oswald Elliott who was found dead on Tuesday (May 23) - sending shocks across the island.
Police, in a media statement, confirmed that they are probing the death as a possible suicide and are calling for the the public’s assistance in their investigation
“The assistance request was made on May 23rd, 2023 around 9AM. Upon entry, Emergency Services found Mr. Elliott inside and unresponsive. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the District Medical Officer. An investigation into the cause of death will be conducted,” the police statement said.
The RSCNPF expressed “deepest condolences to friends, family members, and all others who have been negatively impacted by Mr Elliott’s sudden departure”.
