BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - GUN violence in the Federation continued this morning (May 27) and resulted in the death of 26- year-old Rashaaun Hopkins of Lower Thibou Avenue, McKnight.
Police reported that the incident occurred between 3:00 a.m and 4:00 a.m.
Police, in a media statement, said: “Police received reports of the shooting incident in the aforementioned area and immediately responded. Preliminary investigations indicate that Mr. Hopkins was attacked by armed assailants and shot several times about the body. He was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital by a private vehicle where he succumbed to his injuries a short time thereafter.”
Police also said the scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit and materials of evidential value were removed from the location.
Hopkins’ death has taken to 12, the number of homicides committed in the Federation for the year.
