BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - WITH the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) draft just under a month away, the St. Kitts-Nevis Patriots and the Guyana Amazon Warriors have started to finalize their squads.

The two franchises have released their list of retained players for the season ahead of the June draft, with a total of 15 players being retained or transferred.

CPL in a statement announced that the Patriots retained Evin Lewis, Andre Fletcher, Sherfane Rutherford, Dominic Drakes, Sheldon Cottrell and Joshua Da Silva; all of whom would not be placed in the pool for the draft.

The 2021 champions lost its captain Dwayne Bravo, who returned to his home franchise - the Trinbago Knight Riders - for the 2023 season.

In his absence, the team snapped up erratic pacer Oshane Thomas to bolster its bowling lineup. He was transferred from the Barbados Royals.

Meanwhile,  Amazon Warriors, the 2022 finalist, have retained the core of its local players by keeping nine from last season.

According to CPL, the nine players are Shimron Hetmyer, Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd, Shai Hope, Keemo Paul, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Gudakesh Motie, Matthew Nandu and Junior Sinclair.

The Warriors will be seeking to go one step further as the finals will be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Teams have not officially announced their overseas list of players, but that will be made during the draft.
