BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE two individuals who were killed in a drive-by shooting incident yesterday (June 5) were identified by police as 20-year-old Vishawn Matthew of Taylor’s Village and 43-year-old Kay Johnson-Bellile of Wades Garden.
According to a police press release, the incident occurred on Rectory Road, Dorset Village between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m.
Police said that preliminary investigations revealed that while Matthew and Johnson-Bellile were seated at the side of the road, an assailant or assailants in a vehile shot at them and subsequently fled the scene.
Both of them were pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer.
The Crime Scene Unit had processed the scene and collected a number of items of evidential value.
Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
The death of Vishawn Matthew and Kay Johnson-Bellile have taken to 14, the number of homicides committed in the Federation for the year.
