Nothing bars CBC from making boundary changes says Grant

PAM’s lone parliamentarian Hon. Shawn K. Richards
By: Erasmus Williams, CUOPM

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 26TH 2009 (CUOPM) – After several misleading statements in interviews and on the platform, Political Leader of the opposition People’s Action Movement (PAM), Mr. Lindsay Grant has admitted that there is nothing in the St. Kitts and Nevis Constitution that bars the Constituency Boundaries Commission from recommending changes to the boundaries in St. Kitts and Nevis.

“Nothing bars it,” Mr. Grant admitted to the BBC Caribbean’s Mike Jarvis in an interview aired Wednesday afternoon.

The Constituency Boundaries Commission is made up of two members nominated by the Prime Minister and two members nominated by the Opposition subject to the consent of the Governor-General and an independent chairman appointed by the Governor-General. The Commission has 5 members.
