BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - LESS than 24 hours after Terito Browne was shot in the arm on Nevis, another man was shot at on sister isle St. Kitts but was fortunate to escape unscathed.
According to a police report, the incident occurred between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Monday (June 19) and investigations revealing that several shots were fired at Hance Lawrence of Conaree while he was entering his yard.
He however escaped into his home without sustaining any injury.
During their investigations at the crime scene, personnel of the Crime Scene Unit removed 12 spent shells and two warheads.
“These and other items of evidential value were taken into Police custody. An investigation into the incident is ongoing and the general public will be kept appropriately abreast of its progress,” the report read.
In recent months, there has been an upsurge in violent crimes in the Federation and, in an effort to comnat the situation, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force had rolled out a strategy but many believe that it has not yet shown any success.
