CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - POLICE on Nevis are probing a suspected hit-and-run accident that left an elderly woman hospitalized.
The probe was launched following the discovery of an injured Florence Ella Merchant of Hickmans Village, who was seen by a passerby lying on the side of the road in the New River area around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday (Jul. 15).
Merchant was subsequently transported to the Alexandra Hospital where, upon examination, she was found to have sustained a broken arm, a broken hand and numerous cuts and bruises, but is listed as being in stable condition.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is seeking the public's assistance in the matter.
