BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE have provided details on yesterday’s (Aug. 12) armed robberies at the two Branches of RAM’s Supermarket in St. Kitts, and they are requesting the public’s assistance in the apprehension of the perpetrators.
A press release from the Public Relations Office of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) stated that preliminary investigations indicated that at approximately 6:30 p.m. yesterday, four masked, armed assailants wearing hoodies had rushed into the Camps Branch of RAM’s Supermarket and robbed four of the cashier stations and a vault of a large sum of cash before fleeing the scene in a waiting car.
Approximately 85 minutes after, a similar strategy was employed in the robbery at the Bird Rock Branch.
Four armed, masked assailants dressed in black clothing had entered the business establishment and stole a large sum of cash from the cashiers and a vault, and they, too, made their getaway in a waiting car.
Personnel from the Crime Scene Unit had processed both scenes and collected items of evidential value.
The release also stated that in keeping with the “zero tolerance” approach to crime and violence, the RSCNPF has increased its investigative capacity to address the recent spate of robberies.
The release further stated that the Force aims to solve the recent and other criminal acts with even greater efficiency, and in that regard any assistance from the public would be greatly appreciated.
The police are urging persons with information of those incidents to call the Crime Hotline at 707.
