ACP Adams refutes rumours of resignation

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER OF POLICE (ACP) with Responsibility for Operations, Adolphus Adams has refuted rumours that he is on the way out of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

The rumour was started by a popular unregistered media entity that publishes on social media, which stated that “the departure of Assistant Commissioner of Police Adolph Adams from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force marks a significant setback for law enforcement in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Adams, a seasoned security expert with over three decades of experience, played a pivotal role in maintaining peace and combating crime”.

In response to queries from SKNVibes News on the subject matter, Deputy Commissionr of Police Cromwell Henry stated that Adams is in fact on vacation.

In a prepared speech sent to SKNVibes Newsroom, Adams wrote: “I have noticed that there is some information circulating on social media with my name and photograph attached to it. I want to clarify that the statements and comments being made do not reflect my personal beliefs, feelings, or values.”

“I am still a dedicated member of the RSKNPF (Royal St. Kitts and Nevis Police Force),”  added Adams.

The instances of crimes in recent years had forced the law enforcement body to suspend vacation for its members, as well as recalling those who had already proceeded on vacation.

In this matter, it appears that Adams has cashed in on  all of his accumulated vacation leave, as he will be back on duty before the year ends.

“I have recently applied for and was granted vacation leave until the 22nd of December. After that date, I will carefully consider my options, but regardless of my decision, I remain committed to maintaining a strong working relationship with law enforcement, even if it’s in a private capacity,” he wrote.

The 30-year veteran of the agency noted that at no time whatsoever he would be engaged in negative criticisms of the Force.

“Having been a part of this organisation for over 30 years, I want to emphasise that I am not the type of person who would engage in any negative discourse or criticism. My focus moving forward will be on promoting positive collaboration and upholding the values that have guided me throughout my career,” the statement further read.

ACP Adams signed off on the statement, but there are suggestions that he would tender his resignation after his return in December.
