BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A press release from the Public Relations Office of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) said that the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the law enforcement had “recovered a rifle scope” during a recent search operation in the Shadwell area.
The scope, described in the release, is a Tasco Red Dot Sight attachment, which was found in an empty lot on Thursday (Aug. 31).
The press release said: “The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) and the item was taken into Police custody. No one has been held accountable for the find. The Police continue to encourage citizens and residents who may have information about criminal activity to call the nearest Police station, or the Crime Stoppers Hotline, 707.”
In recent weeks, the police had seized a number of illegal items including weapons, which continue to create a problem for the RSCNPF.
Since the beginning of the year, the Government and those in the law enforcement agencies have been questioning how firerams were making their way into the Federation.
This latest discovery have also raised the question on what are the various types of illegal firearm circulating in the Federation.
