BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A search operation by the Anti-Narcotics Unit on an empty lot in Herbert Street, Newtown resulted in the find of a quantity of drugs, suspected to be Cocaine.
According to a police media statement, the operation took place on Friday (Sept. 8, and during the search officers found one transparent plastic bag containing “forty-eight pieces of a solid white substance suspected to be Cocaine (Crack)”.
The statement did not indicate whether or not the substance was tested to confirm it was indeed Cocaine, but the bag and its contents weres taken into police custody.
“No one has yet been held accountable for the find,” the statement read. However, the police had stopped short of saying why they had decided to execute a search on the location.
In recent weeks, a number of illegal substances, firearms and ammunition were seized by the Police Force during the search operations.
