BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE have launched an investigation into an attempted robbery at the 7 Days Supermarket in Lodge, and are seeking the public’s assistance to bring the perpetrator to justice.
According to a police press release, the incident occurred on Friday (Oct. 6) between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Initial investigations revealed that a masked gun-toting individual dressed in black clothing had entered the supermarket and accosted the business owner’s mother and demanded access to the cash register.
The woman, however, was unable to open the cash register and the individual subsequently fled the scene.
Members of the Crime Scene Unit had processed the scene and collected some items of evidential value.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing and the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has reiterates its appeal to the public for information on this and other criminal matters.
The release stated that should anyone possess such information, he or she is encouraged to contact the nearest police station, or the Crime Stopper Hotline at 707.
