Details released on latest homicide

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Police Force has provided an update on Tuesday’s (Oct. 10) shooting incident on Nevis that left 37-year old Ibol Tyson of Low Street dead - bringing the Federation’s homicide count to 23.

     

    Deputy Commissioner Cromwell Henry had confirmed the incident on that fatal day but could not yave provided details as officers were combing the crime scene for evidence. 

     

    Yesterday (Oct. 11), however, police in a media statement informed that having received reports of gunshots in the Craddock Road area, officers responded and found Tyson seated motionless in his car. 

     

    Investigations thus far  revealed  that while driving down Craddock Road around 8:00 a.m.,Tyson was accosted by an armed assailant(s) and shot multiple times. 

     

    In his attempt to escape, he lost control of the vehicle and collide with a tree on the side of the road.

     

    On arrival at the scene, medical practitioners had pronounced him dead. 

     

    According to the media statement, one firearm and one magazine with 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition were removed by the officers.

     

    The Police Force is appealing to anyone who might have information about this and other criminal matters to contact the nearest police station, or call the Crime Stoppers’ Hotline at 707.
