BASSETERRE St. Kitts - POLICE on St. Kitts are investigating the death of a 24-year-old man who was allegedly involved in an altercation yesterday (Nov. 1).
Police, in a media statement, gave the dead man’s name as Japheth Liburd of Central West Bourne Street.
Reportedly, the incident occurred in Salt Pond Alley, McKnight between 14:30hrs and 15:00hrs on the day in question.
In response to the scene, police ranks had observed Liburd’s motionless body on the ground with visible chop wounds.
He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is requesting anyone with information vital to the pursuit of justice in this and any other criminal matter to call the nearest police station or the Crime Stoppers’ Hotline at 707.
Liburd’s death has taken to 24, the number of homicides committed in the Federation for the year.
