1-November-2023 -- The Peoples Action Movement (PAM) extends its deepest sympathies to the management and staff of the Four Seasons Resort in Nevis following the catastrophic fire that severely damaged a section of the property on the evening of Tuesday 31 October. We are relieved to note that no casualties or injuries were reported.
The Party’s Political Leader, Honourable Shawn Richards, has reached out to the Resort's General Manager to extend his and the party’s regret on the loss experienced. Despite the loss, the Resort’s General Manager was grateful that the fire was contained to a single building. He assured that although the building that was impacted housed facilities that are integral to the operation of the Resort, the intention is to continue with business as usual while exploring innovative solutions to provide the services that were housed in the fire-damaged building.
The PAM applauds the diligent efforts of the St. Kitts & Nevis Fire and Rescue Services and all others involved in containing the fire and preventing loss of life and damage to other sections of the property.
“Nevis’ Four Seasons Resort is one of the premier hotel properties in our Federation which attracts many visitors. Its contribution to tourism and the economy in general is significant, hence any setbacks to its operations could have far-reaching impacts. As such it is our sincere hope that the hotel returns to its normal operations quickly,” remarked Political Leader Shawn Richards.
The Party Leader is encouraging the people of St Kitts and Nevis to rally around the employees and other individuals directly and indirectly affected by the conflagration. He extended a call for the community to unite and uphold 'our brother's keeper' principle even as we offer thanks to the Almighty for his benevolence.
