…Sandy Point female, male slapped with Robbery charges
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - EIGHT days after robbing a passenger bus operator of the vehicle that he uses to ply his trade, police on St. Kitts have arrested and charged two persons for allegedly committing the criminal act.
Police, in a media statement, gave their names as 26-year-old Zhane Warner of Downing Street, Sandy Point and 24-year-old year-old Sadonis Jarvis of Crab Hill, Sandy Point.
The duo was arrested on Saturday (Nov. 11) and subsequently charged on the following day with the offence of Robbery at the Sandy Point Police Station.
The robbery had occurred between 23:30 hrs and 24:00hrs in Bellevue on Friday (Nov. 3)
In a previous media statement, police said preliminary investigations had revealed that the duo, under the guise of passengers, was travelling in the bus from Basseterre. However, when the bus had stopped in the vicinity of Black Rocks for them to disembark, they accosted the driver, forced him out of the vehicle and drove it away.
The vehicle was later found ransacked and abandoned on a dirt road in the Estridge area.
