Cayon Primary School hosts ‘It Takes A Community’ Queen and Calypso Show

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Cayon Primary School continued to rise above the ordinary when they held their Queen and Calypso Show Thursday evening (Dec. 3) at the school’s ground. 

    The event showcased the talents of four girls and five boys competing for the crowns, but at the end of the night Melana Jarvis of Red House and Joel Henry a.k.a. King Scribbles were adjudged the winners. 

    Jarvis walked away with the Talent, Evening Wear and Onstage Interview as well as Miss Photogenic awards while First Runner-up Monique Hanley of Blue House won the Best Speech award. 

    The other contestants were Tyeja O’loughlin of Gold House who won Miss Congeniality and Shakquanda Thomas of Green House. Henry retained his crown with a song entitled ‘One People’ while Javin Henry a.k.a. Survivor and Leonardo Robinson placed First and Second Runners-up respectively. 

    The other calypsonians were Damion Burroughs a.k.a. Big-One, Romeo Henry a.k.a. Romey and Osequekiel Hewitt a.k.a. Mighty Hewitt. Guest artistes included Infamus, STC, Santa Little Helpers, Simba, and Jiggy, and the show was hosted by Green Valley’s very own ‘Kut toe’.
