BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE on St. Kitts are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that snuffed out the life of another young man on Saturday (Nov. 18).
Dead is 23-year-old Wilbert D. Pemberton of New Road.
Police, in a media statement, said that the incident occurred between 13:30hrs and 14:00hrs in the vicinity of a mechanis shop in the New Road area
Preliminary investigations revealed that while Pemberton was walking along the road, he was accosted by an armed assailant who shot him multiple times.
An ambulance had transported Pemberton to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during the operation.
Personnel from the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and took some items of evidential value into custody.
As investigations into the matter continue, the Police Force is encouraging anyone who maight have information that could bring the perpetrator to justice to contact the nearest police station or the Crime Stoppers’ Hotline at 707.
Pemberton’s death has taken to 26, the number of homicides committed in the Federation for the year.
