BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - One of our local dance groups is presently preparing for a dance recital this Christmas. In the usual fine style for which it has become renowned, the Children Dance Theatre (CDT) today announced its plans to once again delight its many loyal fans with a Christmas-themed recital featuring song, dance and drama to be held on December 19th and 20th.
The public eagerly awaits CDT’s spectacular performances and for this holiday season the Theatre intends to deliver in a very special way. CDT is therefore inviting its well wishers to play a more decisive role in this presentation by nominating their favourite Christmas symbol.
Nominations are to be sent to cdtskb@gmail.com by Monday December 7th while the date slated for the announcement of the nominees is Wednesday December 9th after which the hardworking tutors and dancers will prepare a special piece based on the most popular Christmas symbol submitted and incorporate it into the recital.
Children’s Dance Theatre was founded in 1989. Presently there are sixty (60) dancers grouped in three divisions - Sparks, Starlights and Rockets.
Offering instruction in various genres of dance are Director Julie Martin, Heidi Slack, Sonji Isaac, Shanda Labega, Shanikwa Laws, Genieve Hanley and Kerry Anne Pinard.
