CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - THE Federation recorded its seventh road fatality over the weekend and the police are calling on drivers to take caution while traversing the roadways.
The call comes following a traffic accident that resulted in the death of Stedroy Sturge of Barnes Ghaut, which occurred along the bypass road in the vicinity of Occasions between 6:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 2).
Police reported that their initial investigations indicate that Sturge was travelling along the bypass road when he lost control of his vehicle which overturned off the road after colliding with a utility pole.
He was thrown from the vehicle and his passenger, Rasheed Moore, also of Barnes Ghaut, sustained injuries and was transported to the Alexandra Hospital via ambulance, while Sturge was pronounced dead at the scene.
