BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE arrested and charged 23-year-old Shomari ‘Jelly Man’ Hanley of Shadwell on two warrants for the double homicide in St. Peter’s.
On November 22, gunshots rang out in the Upper Monkey Hill area which resulted in the death of 29-year-old Lequani T. James and 24-year-old Kevin Collins, both of the area.
The charges were laid against him on Wednesday (Dec. 13) at the Basseterre Police Station.
Those charges come at a time when the Police Force has stepped up its efforts to combat the number of gun violence occurring on the streets of the Federation.
For 2023, the country has reported 29 homicides which surpassed all of 2021 and 2022 combined.
