BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is making investigations into items found during a recent operation.

Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Vaughan Henderson confirmed to SKNVibes that on December 1, sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., members of the District ‘B’ Crime Response Unit conducted an exercise in the La Valley area.

He explained that the officers found some 400 marijuana plants ranging in height from seedlings to six feet, two illegal distilleries which were destroyed and one bullet-proof vest.

No one, the Inspector explained, has been held accountable for the finds but the officers are making the appropriate inquiries.

Asked specifically about the bulletproof vest – which he describes as a camouflage vest - Henderson said that according to information he received, the vest is not one used or owned by the RSCNPF.

This media house contacted the Commander of the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Wallace, and asked about the possibility of the bulletproof vest being the property of his institution. He indicated that he was unaware of the find and further explained that as far as he is aware, no bulletproof vest belonging to the SKNDF has been misplaced or stolen.

The Police Force is again appealing to persons with information relevant this find to contact the Sandy Point Police Station at 465-6261 and pass that information on to the police. The public is reminded that all information received will be held in strict confidence and persons giving information can do so on condition of anonymity.
