Mavado, Kartel perform at West Kingston Jamboree in Jamaica

Mavado

KINGSTON, Jamaica – THE Gully god Mavado and his arch rival the Gaza President Vybz Kartel shook hands and performed together around 6:00 a.m. on Monday (Dec. 7) at the annual West Kingston Jamboree staged by Presidential Click.

According to Yardflex.com, a source disclosed that the promoters called Vybz and Mavado together before they went on stage and talked to them.

“They shook hands backstage and when it was time to perform they both went on stage and did songs together,” the source said.

The site reported that it was pandemonium as the excitement level reached fever pitch and fans loudly showed their wholehearted approval for this gesture.

“Things intensified when Vybz Kartel looked at Mavado and called him ‘my brother’, after which they brought the curtain down in fine style,” Yardflex.com stated.

The site also reported that Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding is to meet with both dancehall artistes today as part of the ongoing efforts to put an end to the rift among supporters of the two performers. The feud between Kartel’s Gaza and Mavado’s Gully alliances has spilled over into some schools with resulting violence among students.

The feud between the two groups is said to have started three years ago. Only recently Mavado, whose real name is David Brooks, extended an invitation to Kartel – Adija Palmer.

However, Bounty Killer, the leader of The Alliance and who Mavado refers to as his father, has reportedly ‘dissed’ the peace process.

The Alliance CEO blazed on the stage following the Gully/Gaza Peace and set West Kingston Jamboree on fire as he dug into his repertoire from the good old days of Dave Kelly and reeled off hit after hit.

Yardflex.com reported that Killer took his lyrics into the present and turned his arsenal on ‘the bleach out face bwoy’, which everyone knows is his way of referring to his nemesis, Vybz Kartel.
