Update on Monkey Hill double homicide

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has issued an update on the recent double homicide that occurred in St. Peter’s.

     

    In a media statement, the Police Force said that ranks are currently investigating an incident that caused the death of two children in Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s on Friday (Feb. 9).

     

    It stated that police received a report of the incident at 6:25 p.m. and, on response to the scene at the home of 35-year-old Colander Caines, officers found her 4-year-old daughter, C Caines, and 6-month-old son, Kevon Caines, in a bedroom.

     

    Both children were unresponsive and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, while their mother was found alive in another bedroom. 

     

    Personnel of the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and collected a number of items of evidential value. 

     

    As investigation into the incident is ongoing, the police are urging anyone who might have any information about this or any other criminal incident to contact the nearest police station or the Crime Stoppers’ Hotline at 707.
