Homicide #5: Jamaican National Killed in Sandy Point

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - Just as law enforcement officers make progress in bringing perpetrators to justice for crime and violence, the Federation woke up to the sad news that the country recorded its fifth homicide in the wee hours of today.

Jermaine Green, a Jamaican national residing in Sandy Point, has been identified as the victim. Police, in a brief statement to the media, confirmed a shooting incident occurring sometime after midnight in the mentioned area, resulting in Green's death.

This incident follows closely on the heels of the gruesome discovery of two young children - ages four years and six months - found dead in their Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s home. Police have since arrested and charged Colander Caines, 35, with the murders.

With Green's death, the number of homicides for 2024 now stands at five.
