BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- A reported domestic dispute between a male and a female foreign national resulted in the latter sustaining stab wounds and being hospitalized.
The incident took place yesterday (Feb. 21) between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in Carty Alley, Newtown. Elminda Martinez Gomez, a 60-year-old Venezuelan national residing in St. Kitts, sustained multiple stabbing injuries during the altercation.
According to police statements, Gomez was swiftly taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for emergency surgery following the incident. She is currently hospitalized in stable condition.
