BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - YOU voted and they listened! Following a request from the Children’s Dance Theatre for nominations from their fans for their favourite Christmas symbols, the following three items were chosen: tree, wreath and tinsel.

CDT’s fans will find out at next weekend’s recital which of the three will be featured in dance. This year's Christmas dance production slated for Sunday December 20th is dubbed "OUR CHRISTMAS CHOICE AWARDS" and will be infused with the creative explosion and glamour of the prestigious international awards shows.

Categories have been created in which timeless Christmas treasures chosen by our dancers, tutors and fans will be showcased. These will feature the “Favourite Magical Christmas Character”, “Most Popular Foreign Language Song”, “Most Popular Traditional Christmas Sport” and “Most Delectable Christmas Treat”, just to name a few.

CDT’s Director, Julie Martin spoke glowingly of the dancers who seem determined to ensure a spectacular recital. OUR CHRISTMAS CHOICE AWARDS will feature works ranging from lyrical and jazz to afro-caribbean, choreographed by a cadre of experienced and emerging choreographers.

Heidi Slack, Sonji Isaac, Shanikwa Laws, Shanda Labega, Genieve Hanley, Kerry Ann Pinard, the Theatre’s tutors will all present brand new works . Also revealed were the local corporate houses that have partnered with the Theatre and whose support Ms. Martin stated, is indicative of their commitment to youth empowerment and their overall holistic development.

This year’s sponsors are LIME, S.L. Horsford & Co. Ltd, Ting, ZIZ, Premier Planners, Island Soul Entertainment, Ocean’s Edge, The Cable and The Urban Development Corporation (UDC). CDT was founded in 1989.
