St. Kitts and Nevis Carifta Games Team Receives Warm Welcome Home

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- FOLLOWING their impressive performances at the 2024 Carifta Games in Grenada, local athletes were greeted with celebration upon their return to the Federation.

     

    Led by standout performances from Jermadh Huggins, Akanye Samuel Francis, and Jaheem Clarke, who clinched three medals collectively, the Federation secured the 12th position on the medal table. Smiles abounded as athletes were welcomed by their families, friends, and government ministers at the RLB International Airport.

     

    Sports Minister Samal Duggins commended the athletes for serving as exemplary ambassadors for the Federation, underscoring the role of sports in empowering youth to excel on international stages. He highlighted the achievements of past sporting heroes like Kim Collins, Atiba Harris, and Gerard Williams, emphasizing that the Carifta Games represented a pivotal opportunity for the athletes to shine on the global stage.

     

    Addressing the athletes at the airport, Duggins acknowledged both medal-winning performances and personal bests, recognizing the dedication and improvement demonstrated by each participant.

     

    Minister Konris Maynard extended congratulations to the team on behalf of his cabinet colleagues, urging those who did not secure medals to view the experience as a valuable stepping stone for future success.

     

    Delwayne Delaney, President of St. Kitts-Nevis Athletics, praised the team for their commendable efforts in Grenada and expressed gratitude to all supporters for their unwavering support.
