BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- POLICE provided additional information on Tuesday (Apr. 16) regarding the shooting death of 31-year-old Shaquille Chumney of East Street, Newtown.
According to authorities, upon responding to reports of a shooting incident at the Newtown Fisheries Complex, they found Chumney seated near the gazebo with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigations revealed that the young man was accosted and shot by a lone armed assailant who discharged several rounds in his direction.
Additionally, during the attack, 59-year-old Gillards Meadows resident Neal Nicholls sustained a single gunshot wound to one of his ankles. He was promptly transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital by private vehicle, where he received treatment and was later discharged.
