BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -- THE Federation’s Meteorological Office has confirmed a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying areas prone to flooding in St. Kitts and Nevis.
This alert follows similar advisories for neighboring Antigua and Barbuda due to ongoing territorial rain that has affected the Eastern Caribbean region in recent weeks.
The Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.
According to the Meteorological Office, "A Flash Flood Watch means that moderate to major flooding is possible but not imminent in the watch area."
Given the potential danger of the situation, the Meteorological Office urges residents in low-lying areas to prepare to protect their lives and property.
